We're going to try something a little different with this blog. There are so many interesting things to think about with church planting that it's hard to know what thread to pick up first. My mind goes blank! So instead of just launching out, we're going to be having some of our current Vineyard church planters at all stages start the conversations with me about the things they are curious about, confused about, stuck on, passionate about and bugged by. I'll respond and then you can jump in with follow up questions and thoughts. We hope it'll be a fun ride.

I'm "church planting" at a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. Considering where we are, we have an OK office and chapel where we work. My assistant leads worship and I preach. I show a movie during the midweek and he's expermenting with a small group of his own. He hasn't had anyone show up yet, so he's thinking about letting some of the guys play Xbox in our chapel with our projector, as long as he can start or end with prayer. Of course, we're praying, inviting, hanging up flyers and hanging out with people at meals and in their work places. We also have to travel weekly to other FOBs to check on them. Any advice on chapel growth? Thanks!
