Today Was An Interesting Day...
Today was an interesting day. I talked to a Vineyard woman who pastors a church of 200+ calling to say that they just closed on the first building the church will own, perfectly placed between the university community on one hand and the suburban developments on the other, with whole new neighborhoods now open to them. I got an email from a mom wanting some accountability as she digs deeper into the ministry of intercession. I had lunch with a sharp young woman leader working on a MBA with an emphasis on the intersection between social services and community development and for-profit businesses and micro-loans for start-up ventures. I came home to an email from a single mom facing surgery and worrying about how her teenage kids were going to handle her absence and recovery. I spent five minutes with our 40-something community life pastor as we figured out just how many new small group leaders from her burgeoning list we could fit into a Christmas party in my still-new empty-nest condo (now occupied not only by Steve and me but our recently-graduated son who is job-hunting and my 90 year old mom who just moved in with us; sandwich generation indeed!). And that only represents a small handful of the amazing women I interacted with just between breakfast and lunch!
In this blog, we'll be exploring questions of leadership, opportunity, challenge, theology and practice, not shying away from the hard stuff but insisting on mutual respect as we comment. We'll talk about books, and we'll dig into scripture. I'll also be introducing you to some amazing women in the Vineyard who do all sorts of things, because there is no such thing as a woman who is "just" anything. So we'll have guest bloggers from time to time. We'll also spend some time exploring ideas about teamwork and community life, because I am convinced that when we are part of mutually supportive teams, there is a power God releases on what we do that is greater than what happens when we fly solo. Finally, this will be a place where I'll share some of the amazing Holy Spirit stories that come my way.
The bloggers who are my heroes change their content daily, and I certainly have hopes and plans in that direction, but like every leader in the Vineyard I also have a full portfolio of other responsibilities, so pray for me. Dianne Leman and I are eager to see every woman in the Vineyard encouraged, trained and released and blessed to serve God as He has uniquely gifted her, at any and all levels of leadership and service. We're looking forward to the many conversations we'll have in this space.

This sounds great! This is my first time visiting this blog.
Speaking of opportunity, challenge, and practice...
I'm curious if anyone knows if there is a Vineyard Ministry to victims of human trafficking. I just recently became aware of this atrocity occuring in the USA and I'm wondering what is "out there" and what I can be doing.

This blog site looks amazing!

Today Was An Interesting Day - Thank you
The movie Taken made me want to not hear any more about this subject. It was too real. I listened to the podcast from your church about the Heart of God. I was wanting to know God's heart before I heard that message. This subject keeps getting in my face. Last summer at the Leadership Summit too. I have other concerns. My son now wants to do something about all this, stop it and make a difference. He wants to be a policeman or join the army. Help! I know I can't do anything by myself. There are single mom's and hurting teens, a church to mature and husband to support. May God use me as He has gifted me and teach me how to listen to His heart.
There are definitely Vineyard churches that are involved in the fight to stop Human Trafficking as well as the huge task of making the public aware of it. Right now (this very moment!) a group of representatives from involved Vineyards have put together a team to begin pooling our resources and information, and then making them all available to the Vineyard movement as a whole. Are you on Facebook? Join VAST (Vineyard Anti Slavery Team) to keep updated and to communicate with others who, like you, want to become involved. The national Pastors Conference will have a workshop on the subject, and a literature table... ask your pastor(s) to stop by and/or attend the workshop. The Vineyard USA website will soon have a page where you can go to see who is doing what. In the meantime, you can also check out Love 146 (www.love146.org) as there are several Vineyard churches involved with them. See if there is a Human Trafficking Task Force in a large city or county near you, or email me (Cheryl Pittluck at the Anaheim Vineyard: justiceandmercy@dslextreme.com) and I'll share what our church, and some others, have been doing. It's international, it's national and it's local in our own backyards. It's about education and awareness, joining together and taking action, fundraising and supporting other orgaizations who are already in the fight... there is so much to be done. The church mobilized can make a difference!

Sounds great! Thanks for sharing this!!God bless the women! yeee!
All I can say is "wow! You go God!" As usual, when I'm out of town over the weekend, I go to the Vineyard site to look up a church in the area to attend. Instead, I was blown out of the water with the encouraging content and the "drop-dead gorgeous" way it was presented. God is beyond awesome and there is no limit to the depth of His great love when we yield it all to Him. This site made my morning! Thanks and I'll be back! (no movie actor pun intended - smile!).
The site looks fantastic Cindy!
I am so encouraged and excited about this new resource for Vineyard Women. Thanks for your hard work!
