Human Trafficking: Next Steps

As some of our Vineyard churches began to understand more about modern-day slavery and human trafficking, one of the first steps they took was to let others know and then they began to gather for prayer, seeking the Lord, looking for what the Father was doing so they could join Him. In their initial gatherings, they began reading books (see the recommended book link on the sidebar) or watching documentaries and films on trafficking (see the Films & Documentaries link on the sidebar). This gave us content for our prayer and intercession as well as being great educating tools. Meanwhile, we all kept our eyes and hearts open to what God would lead us to do together.

Prayer groups are a great next step, but there are other opportunities as well to gather a group and be empowered. Some groups have partnered with other organizations in the anti-human trafficking movement (see listing of Non-Governmental organizations on sidebar), while others have begun their own task force in which organizations in the anti-human trafficking movement have sought to help faith communities and community groups to gather, get educated and get involved in fighting the wickedness of human trafficking. There may be a "Stop Modern Slavery" Meet-up Group in your area all ready, look it up here: http://modern-day-slavery.meetup.com/

Another way to start the journey is to check out and consider joining the Love146 Faith Community Network and Love146 Task Forces: http://love146.org/faith-community-network
